I was just takling to Larry about this earlier today since this issue has been bugging me for a little bit, but now that more and more people are going to be involved with the blogs I’m working with this really started to bug me. Anyway, I did a search on Wordpress support area and found someone posting there with a link to this article that discusses this topic. (Thanks Pierre for the info.)

Update: I wonder if this posting could also help. In the first posting (from Pierre) he talked about “hand-jamming” the code into the “core” program files. And said that if someone wanted to make it more “dynamic” that he would leave it to someone else. Well this other post is where someone talks about having the “From” address be from the person leaving the comment vs. the machine/admin and that got me to thinking couldn’t I combine the two and have the code in the function just send the e-mail to the author of the posting, and maybe even there is a loop I could write that would go through all authors listed in the DB and if they have the right levels send e-mails to them… huh… something to think about…
