Still working on site and…

20 Mar

I’m still working on my site. I finally have my archive list in a “select” pull-down list… (I know it’s not much but I just haven’t gotten around to putting the code into the site.)

Also I grabbed Splee’s Fuzzy DateTime Plugin from the New Centralized WordPress Plugin site. I had been using the Dunstan’s Time Since plugin… but back a few versions of WordPress ago I started having problems. So I turned it off. And then when i was working on an update to my theme I just switched away from having a (IMHO) “better” formatted date/time section on my site. But as I was looking around on that Centralized WordPress Plugin site I noticed this new plugin. I still am not really “using” it right now since my current theme/skin for the site doesn’t really display date/time info this way, but now that I have the plugin I’m thinking of redoing the theme/skin again… we’ll see. It’ll be based on how much time I have between playing with my JavaScript class and my on-line time with Guildwars (I’m in the Dii clan.)

New Plugins I’m running…

11 Mar

Ok. I’ve included a few new plugins on my site:

  • Admin Theme Preview – I ran across this in one of my news feeds, but I was reminded again of it when I was listening to the latest WordPress Podcast. (BTW, if you haven’t listened to it and you are interested in WordPress, then I recommend that you go there and give it a try. Also, BTW, I don’t mind the Jazz Intro.) Anyway, the Admin Theme Preview function gives me (the admin on this site) the ability to view and go through the site with a theme being active for me but not for the rest of the world. I think it’s great and I would LOVE for the WP community to put that into the CORE of WP. But that’s just my opinion…
  • Clutter Free – This is another one of the “ran across in my news feeds”, and I’ll say that this is another of the “good plugins” that really can help when running a blog for non-techies… there’s no reason for some of the options when doing a ‘write post’ if you aren’t a ‘techie’ or ‘geek-type’ person. And this lets you ‘clean up the interface’ based on the user’s individual selections.
  • Script Enabler – One of the feeds was pointing out this plugin that allows you to *safely* have JavaScript inside of a posting/page. One of the problems I was having with my JavaScript Class page was that when I tried to do the JS inside of the page it would give me problems. I hope this fixes it.

I’m thinking of adding Book Reviews Plugin. I did have the Now Reading plugin running, but there are times when I either wasn’t happy with the output or the interface. So I pulled it. I haven’t started to play with the Book Reviews Plugin yet, but when I get some time I think I will.

Ok. I’ve got a link to Larry’s site. But I realized I didn’t have one to my blogspot blog.

Also, here is the site of my JavaScript Teacher.
